    Hammerhead reliability

+2 on how well it's cared for. I have a kesea(sp?) and a twister, the twister was more or less decently taken care of and still looks very nice for an 05 model (had to rebuild the engine, but the rest was fine), the other one is the pre-cursor to the twister, a 2002-2003 model and it was very...

    hammerhead twister (re)build

I need to start making myself take pictures (since this is the show & tell subforum ;) ), the PW has me running ragged with various tasks so when I sneak a few minutes (hours..) to work on stuff I don't think 'hey doofus stop and take a couple shots'. Anyway, I digress. inbetween replacing...

    Go kart Dyno

I wish we still had access to the local dyno (it's locked in a storage building probably rusting away unspun in 3-4 years), It'd be neat to play with the buggies and go-karts. perhaps in the future, we're trying to get it back from the individual who currently has it, we'll see.

    hammerhead twister (re)build

junk yard was mostly a bust :( All I really needed was a pigtail for a sensor, reckon I'll just cut the surround off and roll my own. got the master cylinder installed, sorted out a couple other things, got a new agm for it, now I just need to make what I got work for the FI. discovered that...

    hammerhead twister (re)build

loose nut has been replaced (well, one of them...), new nut locktited down and tagged with the air impact. we'll see how well this turns out. going sensor raiding at the junkyard finally! ordered the 11 pole stator, and then forgot to order a rectifier for it.. ah well, we'll see how this turns...

    hammerhead twister (re)build

ordered the correct tool and a new nut (lol, it's always those loose nuts), and caught tires on sale REAAALY cheap, so I ordered a set of new rubber. may or may not go on right away (actually got two sets, one for the other buggy as well, since it's tires are falling apart), and a new brake...

My wife says there's a problem

that's what I've heard and seen. I'd like one large enough to put a man-cave type room in (esp since my daughter is 2 months out, we're planning on having one more, and I *really* like my football-americano as well as sharing my opinion of ref'ing), but I can always requisition the 4th bedroom...

My wife says there's a problem

Yeah I goofed and gave up a spot on the carport a year ago (got tired of hearing people b***h about it, including the wife), been regretting that one ever since, but on the bright side, now she's leaning on me to build my shop  Would like to pay off the tractor first, but I'm rapidly...

    hammerhead twister (re)build

timed it again, different stretch (mailbox post to first turnoff, ~300 yards give or take), down and back a couple times, best was 16.75, worst was around 17.3, average is around 16.9s. don't think the kart was up to top speed, but it was probably up to around 40mph. and either the one-way...

My wife says there's a problem

and that the buggies are breeding. The accusation is that my hammerhead came home knocked up and is now causing all sorts of problems on the carport. :surrender: What do you guys think? (picture) Only two of the four are mine, the blue one and the silver one. the orange(faded red) was...

    hammerhead twister (re)build

carb issue resolved, I set about gathering some kind of performance data... driveway works well, approx 100 yard dash (edge of the concrete to the first maple tree, to provide sufficient braking). After a couple trips it averaged out to 6.5 seconds at around 24mph. Top speed with the carb...

    Carb issues/questions

I didn't replace the carb, it came with the engine I'm using (stroked high compression gy6 running e85). Turns out that it came with a spare carb in the box of parts I got with the engine, I replaced the slide and needle and it's behaving MUCH better now. Both good links, thank you! Pretty...

    Carb issues/questions

Preface: I understand how carbs work fundamentally, however I do not apparently get along with them at freaking all. The scenario: I'm told this carb came off a CN250 (or whatever the sort-of GY 250cc engines are called), it looks to be a 30 or 32mm carb, and it's been jetted for E-85...

    hammerhead twister (re)build

Yay college football! Boo other engine builders :ack2: the no-start issue wasn't the one way clutch, it was that wierd 4 tang bolt that holds it down.. wasn't tight and came loose. replaced it anyway with the upgraded one. Have a carb issue however, will post about that in the engines...

    hammerhead twister (re)build

picked up a spare (kasea, looks like an older/cheaper version of my hammerhead, practically the same frame and base components) for guests/buddies to ride last night, needed a fuel tank and carb (had spares), runs like a champ. Doesn't stop at all.. master cylinder appears to be trashed, has a...
