    Manco Dingo Better Ground Clearance

What does the gear shift mechanism look like? Hows that all work?

    Manco Dingo Better Ground Clearance

So the solution to my ride height problem is essentially solved... learn to weld and adjust the front "suspension" mount points and put some kind of spacer between the frame and the rear axle mount points. And possibly bigger tires, but also possibly not. Now on to that 350L gearbox! Where has...

    Manco Dingo Better Ground Clearance

I'm very unlikely to ever actually do suspension mods to this thing. But a ground clearance lift and a rear axle upgrade and SOME kind of reverse are hopefully in its future.

    Manco Dingo Better Ground Clearance

Well why do a side by side when i can drive in there with a lifted jeep with 33" tires. But the reality is, its dingo or nothing, so i choose the dingo.

    Manco Dingo Better Ground Clearance

Just so you understand, this is a typical new england fire road. This will be miserable to drive any kind of distance on with the stock ground clearance of a dingo. This is why a lift is definitely on my wishlist.

Its not about high centering, its about smacking rocks all over the place that. This is new england, its all rocks. Theres no way I'll spot them all. I don't think increasing the ride height by 3-4" is going to ruin the kart.

    Manco Dingo Better Ground Clearance

I'm in massachusetts so no, theres very little off roading and off road vehicles around here. And I also have limited storage space so I'm not really interested in anything bigger. I've had this dingo for like 25 years now, its just a fun little cart. But modifying the frame a bit so it stand...

    Manco Dingo Better Ground Clearance

I just looked at a frame diagram and the front suspension is the inverse of what I was thinking it was. meaning the only solution is more welding. I guess I just need to take a welding for hobbyists course. And I would hopefully be doing very tasteful mods, it wouldn't look like a frankenkart...

    Manco Dingo Better Ground Clearance

So I have this dream that some day I'll go on a real long distance treking adventure with this thing. I don't mean like days long, I mean like 10 miles on mostly fire roads. Dingos are weird. they are kind of capable, but also with no real suspension, they can beat you up and get stuck kind of...

Can you rent a tire mounting tool?

On this old snowblower, both were miserable. It took a week to get it unmounted, I had to build my own custom tire press from scrap plywood and a bunch of giant clamps i had. Then I had to buy some big 14" metal tire levers to get it back on. But still, other than this one tire change on this go...

Can you rent a tire mounting tool?

Last winter, I had to unmount and remount a snowblower tire on a 6" rim. It was a total nightmare. This summer, I'd like to pop off my dingo's tires, replace the valve stems and probably replace the 25 year old tires. But thats probably the last time I'll be mounting small tires and rims like...

    Throttle Cable Pulley??

Any old time Mountain Bikers here? In the 90s and early 2000s? Have you heard of a Rollamajig? Ok I'll get back to this in a sec. Like probably most karts, my throttle cable comes up from the gas pedal, along the rails beside the seat. But then it has this big old loop that goes around so it...

    Lighting Ideas

Hmm fair point, I just double checked teh specs and the brake like (technically tail light) i'm thinking of using is 4.8 watts. Now I don't recall if my kart has 20w output or 40w output. It was an incandescent light bulb so I think maybe it has a 40w capacity. The 18w off road lights, I've put...

    Lighting Ideas

I'm perfectly content with ~20watt lights and simply not using them all at the same time. If I need to light up a zone behind me, that means i won't at that moment need to look ahead. And a brake light will only be about 1 watt so that doesn't even count.

    Lighting Ideas

One of these days, I'm going to put an AC DC rectifier on my kart and wire up a bright LED headlight and LED tail light. Then I had an idea of putting a headlight on the back too, so I could potentially be on a trail at night and light up behind the cart of I'm doing some quick trail work or...
