Thanks Kartorbust! I got the entire kart broken down today, everything came off super easy surprisingly enough. I went to HF and looked at the 212 predator which looks like it will fit nicely with minimum hassle (maybe the throttle linkage) but he has decided to just buy some upgrades with that...

Thanks for the reply OzFab! I told him about that one which I think would work just fine and he inquired about the 420cc 13HP Predator but I believe its a 1" shaft and would require mods and more parts? Correct?
