Race Kart Refurb | New Project!

Yes definitely! Especially with how low it is the sheer volume helps drivers know I'm there, but I don't take it out on busy days like weekends. I make it standard practice to drive slow when there's a car going by and yield to the full size cars, and of course I had to wave the other kids out...

Race Kart Refurb | New Project!

It actually tracks real nice and straight, but I might add some caster to the front left to match the right and help it track even straighter. The only reason it looked squirrelly in the video is because I was driving one handed and I just wasn’t ready for how powerful it was! Yeah pretty much...

    Weird Hardware??

Ahhhhh, yeah you answered my question! I thought it was Dzus fasteners, but I wasn't sure.

Race Kart Refurb | New Project!

You sure? Looks OK to me. In the video footage at one point you can actually watch the frame flex and rise when I turn the wheel right, I pointed it out in the video. I just checked and the front right spindle has considerably more caster than the left, maybe that has something to do with it...

    Race Kart ID

Really low resolution, but it shares considerable similarities with this picture of an Emmick Cobra! Look at the front end, triple bearing hangers, and the steering column where it mounts to the frame, looks pretty similar! But it does look considerably shorter than mine with a lot more steering...

Race Kart Refurb | New Project!

Oh yeah, this is the number plate that came with it. Number 33! Can't quite tell if it's etched on or if it's a decal, I'm guessing it's a decal.

    Weird Hardware??

For reference, this is the number plate.

    Weird Hardware??

This is a simple question: How do I mount the number plate onto these tabs? I have no idea how to mount to these!

    Race Kart ID

So I'm trying to ID the "Green Monster", so I figured the best way to do that is to start a thread dedicated to it. In short: Anyone know what race kart this is?? I'm 80% sure it's an Emmick, since it says Emmick on the seat and I see some similarities with other Emmicks, but I'm not certain...

Race Kart Refurb | New Project!

Even though it was a bit rainy today I had to get it out to put it in the backyard temporarily, so I figured it'd be a shame not to stretch it's legs a little bit. So I took it up and down the street around 1/2 throttle, got some nice pictures of it out in the open as well! All the water that...

Seeking information can anyone tell me if this is valuable or should i repaint it and give it to my grandson?

Well, given those decals looks like it's a Clark 667! :lolgoku: Looks original given that those decals are still there, which implies it's the original paint, pretty neat! I personally don't know much about Clark Mfg. Corp, I know they used to make some race karts back in the 60's, and...

Race Kart Refurb | New Project!

Yeah, thanks for listing those! Good to know that's what they're called! Eventually I'm probably gonna take this thing all the way apart to refurbish it properly, there's extra stuff from where the nerf bars used to be mounted, gotta cut that off and clean up a little rust that's developed in...

Race Kart Refurb | New Project!

All right I finally got it all back together! After going to GoPowerSports to pick up some parts, I reassembled it, cut off the custom muffler, and it fired on the second pull! Somehow the hose clamp I was missing was in the blower housing, so it got a bit mangled, but oh well. After pulling it...

Race Kart Refurb | New Project!

I got around to checking today, they're made of hollow steel tubing, which I presume is to function as a crumple zone in a crash.
