Tried editing it and it saves with the right link but then goes back to the sleeping bag so heres a pic if anyone...

Thinking of making a drift trike

Hi everyone. A couple weeks ago I got a free 5.5hp gx160 of a guy down the road and I've been cleaning it up and planning to put it on a go kart. Now I'm thinking of making a drift trike as it will be cheaper and even a bit more appealing to me. Due to the price of buying an axle, bearings...

    Can't get the carburetor off

Thanks for the replies. I've done a lot more than tap at it with a screw driver to try and get it out and still nothing (got a dint in the carbys body from a socket extensions I was hitting into it and broken off some of the body where I was prying at it with the claw on a hammer. Not worried...

    Can't get the carburetor off

Hi everyone. I'm trying to clean up a gx160 I got for free of a guy down the road before putting it on the kart I'm building. I was having problems with it idling and surging so I bought a new carby for it off ebay and it arrived today but I cannot get the old one off. I've watched a few videos...

    Confused with chain sizes

Hello everyone. I am piecing my go kart together and I have decided to use a torque converter on 18" wheels with a 50t sprocket and see how it goes. The sprocket I have is 428 size and is already mounted on the axle and I can't find any other sprockets that will mount onto the hub I have so I...

    Quick ratio question

Ok guys I have been shopping around trying to find the right combination. I've found 60t sprockets that will fit on the hub on the axle I have but they are still #428. All of the torque converters I have found are #35 or #41 and I can't find a replacement sprocket for the TC thats #428. Should I...

Torque Converter questions [EDIT -sid-]AND AGAIN....[EoE] Hi everyone. I am in the process of building my go kart and I'm using a honda gx160 5.5hp engine and the rear axle/sprocket/tyres of a old honda trx90x go kart. The tyres are 18". Because of the size of the tyres and the 50t sprocket I...

    Quick ratio question

Also, was just playing around with it and I'm thinking a jackshaft is the way to go as I could just use a #35 centrifugal clutch and sprocket on the jackshaft and then a 428 sprocket to the rear axle. For the jackshaft, I will have to use bearing won't I? Anything else I should look out for? And...

    Quick ratio question

Hmm yeah ok. From what I've heard though, a 4.2:1 ratio on 19" tyres with a clutch would not work at all.

    Quick ratio question

What do I have to do to run 18" tyres [EDIT -sid-]AND AGAIN....[EoE] Hi everyone. I'm gathering the parts to make myself a go kart and currently I have a Honda gx160 5.5hp motor, a rough frame, and a rear axle off a Honda trx90 quad. I want to use the quad bike axle to save cost (Only spent...
