    buildoff entry- the creature

Yes i did get the idea from the sites homepage. I was a little leery that they weren't going to hold up but they seem to be doing fine. I'll see if i can get the video up.

Here are some more photos. I can't figure out how to download the video from the phone.

    buildoff entry- the creature

I finally was able to get out to my parents farm this weekend. Riding it brought me back some years driving a Manco. It handled better than I imagined it would and was actually pretty quick. The 40 year old briggs ran amazing. It does need brakes though. Even with riding it pretty hard I didn't...

    buildoff entry- the creature

I've completely redone my front steering. Ordered good rims. Currently trying to get the gas pedal to work correctly. Need to find brakes and some sort of seat cushion.

Old Manco restoration project for the summer!

The clutch can't float free on the shaft- It will fly off. You can drill and tap a bolt if not already done. It's not too difficult or expensive.

I'm redoing my front steering and have been looking for 3/4" tubing for the spindles. I can't seem to find the thick wall tubing. The only type I can find is the thin wall. Am I just not looking in the right places?

I've managed to mix and max a steering setup, I'm surprised it works. I used gate hinges drilled out to fit the 5/8" bolt. The wheels are for mockup only, I'm already starting to see there ability to shred.

    buildoff entry- the creature

During my hunt for an engine I decided to take a look at my snowblower and discovered it had a keyed shaft and a 3/4 hub fit on it. The engine mount is even the right size. I knew this was possible but how common is this? I know it doesn't have an air cleaner and it isn't made for a go kart...

It was a coincidence. But the build off is a reason for me to finish.

    buildoff entry- the creature

I've had the poorly constructed frame sitting in my garage for a while. Figured I might continue with that theme. I'm robbing the tires off the snow blower (no snow no problem). I'm currently looking for a engine in the 7-8hp range, I may have to consider a clone if I can't find a good used one.
