Done, well at least up and running!! Kid loves it. I ended up getting a new engine from Harbor Freight. The throttle linkage I bought for the predator, but not the original engine so I have a spare if needed later. Over the winter I hope to repaint it and change from brake cable to a rod. Also...

Saw someone replace a friction washer with a thin metal washer to allow for easier throttle control. Will do that - Thanks!

My linkage wasn't exactly the same as DeathMachine's. I went the easier route and bought a Predator engine from Harbor Freight. Need to unpack it and break it in and then will post my progress!

OK, well this certainly isn't the stock gas tank! The cap says to mix the gas and oil! Should I get a longer tube and make it attach to the tank? ---------- Post added at 11:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:22 PM ---------- and super thanks for the coupon!!!!!!!!!

One more question. Where the fuel enters the carb there is a tube (vacuum I'm assuming), where does that need to connect. Right now it is only about a 2 inch tube that is not connected to anything. You can see it in the last picture in the first set.

hope we get a test tomorrow! Anyone know if Harbor Freight has the air filter that would fit?

Thanks - will try those tomorrow morning and see where I stand then! Also I have the air filter cover but no air filter - any harm running if it isn't dusty? Will get one asap though.

It does, I was trying to put the black plastic part into the slot instead of the hole. Where is the throttle cable attached though?

well I can go grab one for $120 and then take my time figuring out the rest. I will get it fixed and maybe my 5 year old will have one too!!!

That is easy - Harbor frieght is very close - I would rather buy a new engine for $120 than spend weeks tinkering to get this running. I have no problem tinkering but my boy is dying to ride it already!!!! I got the linkage on Amazon and it looked like one I saw on a pic on google. Just got...

As you can see in the last 2 pics the new part will bolt to the engine - it is the carb connection I am lost on. Is this even the right part for this carb. Is the carb something I need to replace? Thanks, Jim
