When you say squared up is there a way to move the driven over?? Also the engine can only slide forwards or backwards. when you say float the driven what exactly do you mean?

Yep It's definitely a Comet 20 series driven. Are yall saying I can take it apart to correct the alignment.

I think the guy I bought it from put that belt on it because the alignment of the driven and driver are off. Im pretty sure the correct 30 series belt is going to break too. Heres a better picture of the setup.

Can the belt that was on here be brought locally or will a substitute work?? I measured the belt that came off and it's a little over 28". I was trying to just find a replacement belt like I had until I can find all the parts.

Yes the alignment of the clutch and driven seem to be off. I was having a hard time choosing a belt and figured something wasn't right especially trying to match it to the one that broke. If I was to change it back to factory would that decrease the speed?

I measured from the center shaft to the middle of the driven pulley its about 8.5 and the driven pulley is around 7 inches.

Thanks guys for the info. I found a picture on google of a go-kart similar and it was a Carter #2435. Heres a picture of the belt that broke.

Hello Forum I recent bought an old gokart off of market place. Ive been trying to figure out the model the tag behind the driver side seat is worn off. I know it was made by Carter Bros. But anyway anyone know what model this is or what type of belt I need for this thing. Heres a few pics
