I took it off today and cleaned it up, sanded the drum and shoes, and lubed the bushing and it's working now! Thanks guys! Sorry to be such a novice at this, but now I know! :wai:

If I rotate the wheel with the engine off, the engine also moves. I'm going to pull the clutch later today and see what's going on. Thanks Guys! Brian

Yeah, that's the trouble, I think. I've been searching online and coming up with nothing! Hopefully he'll have an idea. I'll try servicing it, can't do it today, but I should be able to get it done tomorrow.

Hi, I just bought a used Action Motorsports promo kart (indy style). It has a 3.5hp briggs and stratton with a toothed belt drive and seems to need the wheel to turn otherwise it stalls. I can only start it with the wheel off the ground and once driving, if the brakes are engaged it stalls...

Was thinking about taking it to a local road course but not to race competitively, just for fun

I'm new to karting and looking at this kart as my way in. I'll I really know is that it's a Margay, but don't know the year, model, etc. Can anyone identify this and tell me anything about this model, or what I should look at before purchasing? Thanks!
