Thanks. Exactly my experience too. Good thing I recieved a $15 refund because the motor case was scratched up and it came with a 9 tooth sprocket instead if the 11 as advertised.
So i was only $16 out of pocket for the whole kit. Even though im disappointed with the speed its well worth...

Yes there should be a 3 wire plug usually marked "speed" or something similar. It looks very similar to the throttle plug.
You can hook it up to a 3 position switch to obtain low speed Medium speed and high speed . Ans switch it on rhe fly.
The only tricky part is figuring out which wire...
I suck at soldiering. I also dont want to deal with buying or specing out the right kind of charger. Also, when I looked into it, it wasn't that much cheaper. I could get past all of that if it was a lot cheaper.
How much do you think it would cost to make a 60volt 7 to 10AH. Pack?????
Also...
Yes because of the rugged casing and i want to charge the batteries off of the scooter with the normal tool charger for the batteries. Makes things a little easier and safer for a novice like me. Also, it seems to be the cheapest way to go lithium. I also come across the black & decker lithium...
Thanks for the input. Just looking for a 7ah 60 volt pack for the cheap.
I thought the stats might be inflated. But was hoping it would be at least 60 volts and 5 + Ah...
Harbor Freight tool Battery options are a little costly too .
I did find 3 20 volt 5AH packs I can wire in series for...
Thanks and thanks for the info.
Ok I dont feel as bad now.
Plus a larger motor sprocket and taller tires should help some with the MPH.
What do you think about the battery from this drill???
Do you think those specs for the battery???
Do you think its bogus...
So it was ready to ride. Didnt want to Secure the Battery pack because they are just for testing and need to go with a longer AH pack. So i just put them in a metal box i had laying around.
WOW..... the torque for this thing is unreal. It wheelies and wants to come from out and under you...
Well got it painted kind of
Went with a cool cheap Copper metallic color
Got most of the fabrication done
-grinded done the frame
-cut off some brackets
-mounted engine and made new mouning holes
-machined a 47 tooth pocket bike sprocket to attach to the stock sprocket. So I can switch back...
Makes a little more sense to me now. Thanks for explaining all of that.
Maybe Ill try to find a new 60 volt solution before I put it under load
I bench tested it last night and got the motor working. Thanks to your post in another thread about these speed controller kits and the wiring. I...
Did you guys ever figure this out?
Open with nothing jumped seems to be the fastest for me too.
When I do blue to black or any other combination it slows it down.
I still can't help but feel its not high speed on default. Just seems to quite and visually disappointing while bench testing...
Thanks again.
I will try to look at your over volting info today.
Maybe I can have a separate lead acid 5 pack for long trips.
I think I get why its bad to combine different AH packs.
But why is not a good Idea to combine different Volt packs in series that have the same AH???
Thanks for the reply.... I really appreciate it!
interesting. What happens if the capacitors inside the controller say 63 volts? Will that make it a little safer or give it a better chance to survive????? I've seen people mention that in forums and on YouTube.. any truth to that?
Yeah that...
