Okay, so it's as done as it's going to get. I put all the finishing touches up on it over the past few weeks. Lights, flooring, paint touch-up, minor tweaks, and it runs great. I will probably add a better exhaust, intake and a few other engine tweaks to get some more HP, but the core project...

So I spent some time over the past few weeks trying to get this thing wrapped up and it's finally about done. Paint is done, it's all put back together and runs like a champ. All I have now are a few odds and ends like lights and the parking brake. I've only had a change to run it around the...

Things are moving, but slowly. I spent a bit of time over the past few months wrapping up loose ends like parking brake, buying lights, etc. Then I tore the entire thing back down to bare metal and started clean up and paint last week and should have it done this week. After that it's back...

Those sounds like some awesome projects, I am happy that I have had time to get most way through one project like this in two years, so I'm jealous. Good luck on those projects, and please post some pics and progress.

I have had a few questions about what I did to get front brakes added to my setup, so I thought I would post it for anyone else who is curious. I am very glad I added the front brakes, it helps a lot. Before I had the front brakes added, I drove it around a few times with only a back brake...

With the gearing that I have on it now, at full throttle I get 30 mph. With the engine I put on it I have HP to spare, so if I wanted to re-gear I could certainly get it faster and still have enough low end torque, but I don't think I will, it's already faster than I think I would like the kids...

Yup, haven't spent much time working on the cart lately, but have been having fun driving the kids around on it. I took them out on Halloween and drove around with them while they gathered bags full of candy, it was fun. I need to get back to wrapping up the loose ends. Next step is putting...

The main adjustment for the engine was going to the heavy duty torque converter and Jack Shaft. That required some adjustments to the back part of the frame that supports the engine so it could support the layout for the Jack shaft. Other than that things are mostly the same as the plans.

I bought and entire setup that included the master cylinder, hoses and calipers. Here is the one I bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hydraulic-Brake-Master-Cylinder-set-ATV-Go-Kart-150-200-250cc-SUNL-KMD-ROKETA-/160903189912?pt=Go_Karts&hash=item257693d598&vxp=mtr

I got the front brakes working this weekend and tried them out last night. Wow, what a difference! I am SOOO glad I went with the front brakes, even though it was a lot more work. With just the rear brakes I could stop, but it was pretty weak. Now with brakes in front and back I can stop on...

Okay, so I finally found a bit of time and decided it was time to get this thing on the road. It's nowhere near done, but I got it put together to the point I was ready for a test drive. I was amazed at how quickly it came together in the end and did great on the road right out of the gate. I...

Hey Matthew, your build looks great and it looks like you are making good progress, unlike me. With summer upon me, I have been spending all of my free time going to little league football games, working on my Jeep CJ and doing yard work. I did find a bit of time last week to install my...

It does give specs on what material he recommends, such as the gauge and size of tubing to use. It does not give an overall weight of the material or of the final kart.

I am into it about $2300 so far and have almost everything I need, probably $2500 by the time I am done. I haven't kept a journal of all the things I changed and the issues I ran into like I had planned to do, so now I am pretty much going off of memory. The main things that come to mind that...

If you do decide to go for it, I am happy to share any of my experiences and advice I have come across while doing the build. You can get the plans off the spidercarts.com website and they are only $40, or a bit more if you want to get the plans for all the carts (which is what I did). The way...
