Thanks for the reply, itsid! I didn’t know there was another version of this that did not have the perforated metal on it, seeing that there is one out there and I can see through the perforations that there is not any kind of venting in it I’m going to roll the dice and cut it off...

Does the perforated piece of metal on the body of the RLV muffler serve a purpose other than a place to attach a lanyard? Maybe harmonics? I ask because I am going to coat the muffler and want to get full coverage, I don’t want rust bleeding out from under that piece and would like to cut it off.
