    Brakes are a little smokey

Wasn't sure if the smoking from the brakes would be an issue... we did DW-40 a lot of the components since it had been sitting for a year w/out use. Found a couple links that carry those similar brake bands, just gotta figure out what size it is. What is the best brakeing system for an...

    Brakes are a little smokey

So we finally took the kart out for it's virgin run... it went well for being on pavement with knobby tires. My concern right now is the brakes. It seems they need a little tightening, and i'm not sure if these kinds of brakes are supposed to have pads or what, but just two times around the apt...

    Kasea any good?

Ya I noticed that the parts were a little pricey. It says they're 125cc but i've only seen 150cc Adventure buggies (which it looks like) I figured if it is indeed the GY6 it's pretty upgradeable and parts can be had from other companies for a lot cheaper. Even just for the frames I think it'd...

    Kasea any good?

Locally on CL there are 2 Kasea 125cc go karts for sale. $500 for the both of them, together. One needs a carb, and the other two front tires. Are Kasea karts any good and is it worth it? They look pretty sweet. http://boise.craigslist.org/mcy/1318593960.html

    Heck of a CL deal

I figure at idle it's possible to move the tires, but this moves the tires like it's going 20+ mph or something. We need to figure it out so one person doesn't have to sit on the break while the other starts it.

    Heck of a CL deal

New update: While running the go-kart w/the foot off the brake, the pulley runs just fine without any smoke. Now the problem lies with the idle. I've got it pretty much all the way counterclockwise but it's still spinning the tires like mad. Is that little spring that is off in post 31 the...

This is a pic of the back pulley on the TQ, is the right side of it supposed to be in between the two black notches?

    Heck of a CL deal

Found this little spring there at the bottom not connected to anything... dunno what it's for and if that could be part of the problem. Also, took a short vid of the smoking, the back pully doesn't seem to be moving at all, I think that's why it's smoking, the front pulley is going, and...

    Heck of a CL deal

Why do I disconnect the chain? Wont I need that on to know if it stops the tires from turning? Also, is there a way to fix a tubeless tire leak? It seems to have a leak just inside where it meets up w/the outter rim just below the edge of it.

This is the last pic I took, i'm guessing it's that small gold screw? It has a spring on the backside of it, and was covered with a rubber sheath like thing.

It's a 6hp Tecumseh 0HH60 71157D. What about the smoke coming from the belt/pulley? I did turn that screw I had pointed to turned counter-clockwise just a smidgen as well.

    Heck of a CL deal

Ok, so we got the back tires on and pumped up, however, one seems to have a small leak and it goes away when pressure is put on it. Not sure how to fix that. The sad news, it's a smoker now. It started smoking from the belt/pulley after about 3-5 seconds of being on. Does this need to be...

    Heck of a CL deal

Thanks for the comments on the kart. We feel we made out like bandits with it. Just need to get the tires aired up and a valve stem in the back tire (the part where you connect it to get air was ripped off, so a new one needs to be pushed through the inside of the rim) Get a gasket for the carb...

    Heck of a CL deal

So I need to get a new valve stem, and the one I pulled out says TR412, AB 27. Looking at Schucks and AutoZone I don't pull any up. I'd like to buy locally so I can get it same day. Looking at this website (http://www.ecplaza.net/tradeleads/seller/4332569/tubeless_car_tire_valve.html) it...

    Heck of a CL deal

Would this be sold locally by chance? like a lawnmower place? I'm hoping to get to play with this tomorrow. We gotta go pick up a new valve stem for one of the rear tires and hope it doesn't have a leak somewhere. This has a lot less work than we thought it would, since it pretty much cranked...
