while u have it apart why not drill a 1/8th npt hole and add a grease zerk, every once a while squirt some grease in there, and yes high temp grease is ok for that service , doesn't have to be high heat,, not much heat in there, chassis lube is fine,, 25 year millwright machinist,, gas and steam...
