It does not engage when the choke is on but as soon as i put the choke off it engages because the engine rpms increase.

Well whenever i take the choke off of the engine when the motor has been running the clutch engages and the go kart starts driving away. Plus the clutch has a ton of play in it and the hole clutch wobbles around the shaft that goes over the drive shaft. Is that sort of wobble normal?

I have a simple single wheel drive go kart that needs a new clutch but before i go and buy one i want to get some opinions on which one to get. Yeah it runs smooth at idle. Im thinking it has got to be the clutch engaging at to low of rpms. I will clean the inside of the clutch as best i can tomorrow with some brake parts cleaner and see if it helps and go from there.

Should the drive shaft spin when the engine is supposedly ideling??

Yeah the more I think about it I am too. Maybe it has something to do with all the little springs and things and run along the engine under the gas tank that move when the throttle moves. But the clutch is old and looks semi worn out which makes me wonder if it is engaging at to low of rpms.

It is all the way over to idle. The go kart doesnt move when the engine is running and the choke is on fully but as soon as I start lessening the choke it starts to drive away.
