    LiPo Batteries on a Go-Kart?

    would be an extremely large and heavy pack in order to meet the required current need. Used up 18650 cell have lost storage and current capacity meaning you would need more of them (potentially double) than if you built a pack using new cells. I have collected a lot of 18650 from the Homedepot...

    What happened to American made karts?

    Yardkarts yes. Racekarts no. Most of those are made in USA and other non-China countries.

    I finally found the vintage kart I was looking for my EV conversion.

    I was running #35 chain before but it was the gold racing type which is stronger than regular black type. As for the amps I honestly don’t know. Controller is 500 amps max.

    I finally found the vintage kart I was looking for my EV conversion.

    Put the gearing right at 4.0 to get some more torque back Raised the RPM limit to 6200 Increased Phase amps to 100% Increased Battery amps to 90% Installed brand new rear tires Cells were at storage voltage (3.85v per cell) just wanted to do a quick test run today. 51 mph top speed (motor is...

    HobbyKing Battery Medic

    I use this meter that shows battery volts and amps at the same time. Instant data only, no logging. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D2X2JSH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 For my individual cells I use some of these. I don't monitor these while driving. More so for simple...

    Newbie Learning the Kart Ropes. Lots of Questions...HELP!?

    Yeah. I built your exact kart already. Just do what I did for electronics which you already are. Even your gearing is almost exactly the same, mine was 10/53 https://www.diygokarts.com/community/threads/i-call-this-kart-sitting-sideways.43180/

    Overkilling the Go-Kart Again (67.2v Chevy Volt battery -> 87.6v Headway 38120HP)

    My original Manco kart ran a 20/53 and had decent acceleration with only a 64v pack. I bet both of our karts could hit 70 mph+ with that gearing ratio.

    I'll have to check James Biggar out. Thanks

    8C is nothing for these lipos. They are rated at 100C (which is BS) but I'd say anywhere from 10 to 12C burst is safe. As I mentioned before they are barely warm while my motor and controller are reaching hot. I did a 75 amp constant drain test on a 10AH pack of the same make before I ordered...

    Overkilling the Go-Kart Again (67.2v Chevy Volt battery -> 87.6v Headway 38120HP)

    If I'm doing my math right with your 11 inch tires that's good for 60 mph. So did you set an RPM limit or do run it to 60 mph?

    I finally found the vintage kart I was looking for my EV conversion.

    Got some data. Voltage sag is around 5-6% and my meter shows I pull around 280 battery amps max. This is with the controller set to 65% battery amps though while I dial in the settings with the more powerful batteries. I still get the "3-2 Reset Error" which can mean any of the following. "May...

    Oh yeah. I left a lot of rubber in the clubhouse parking lot. Hope that doesn’t cause me trouble.

    Hey FA. I have to get my meter attached for volts and amps. I haven’t recharged yet to see what I burned today but yesterday I burned 17AH in 19 minutes. I’ll bring along my phone for some acceleration data next time. It’s probably under 5 seconds to 50mph.
