    5/8" x 1 3/8" bearings question

As the cart is currently assembled and running, I grabbed a pic from the web to give help.

    5/8" x 1 3/8" bearings question

The axle is welded to the frame. It's about 1" then reduced to the 5/8" for the last 6". There may be some flex but I doubt there is much at all.

    5/8" x 1 3/8" bearings question

Thanks @Master Hack for the info. I understand what you're saying. This isn't a race kart, just a fun kart. All of the effort to make a proper bearing work isn't worth it to us. My son can change the set in a wheel in about 15 minutes. Start to finish. We'll just keep on doing that. I'll try...

    5/8" x 1 3/8" bearings question

It's mainly the drive wheel. The outer bearings actually rides on part of the threads of the spindle. Poor design from Manco IMO. My son doesn't drive it like a granny either. :)

    5/8" x 1 3/8" bearings question

I was buying whatever I could find at the time. I'm not sure if they were high speed or not. We needed 8 to start of with so I bought a 10 or 12 pack. Admittedly, these were cheap and did the job. After going through 2 sets on the single drive wheel, I'm just wondering if there is a better one...

What spindles for these front hubs?

From the link.... So I'm thinking the spindle need to have a 5/8" OD. Something like this I would think. Search 5/8 go kart spindle kit.

    5/8" x 1 3/8" bearings question

My son's old Manco cart has the stock wheel and use the 5/8 x 1 3/8 bearings. The one we got of Amazon didn't last all that long, especially on the drive wheel. It is kinda a pain to change it. I was reading on an older thread that most of the bearing were the same. My question is, is there a...

    Good front tires for street?

Now that you say that, I believe your correct.

    Good front tires for street?

Thanks. I need a 4" wide (3.5" really) on a 5 inch rim. The selection seems pretty slim. My son has already burned through a turf tire. (Yes, there were burnouts and donuts involved.) We have a new turf tire ready to install but I was just wondering about a slick.

    Good front tires for street?

Sorry for the necropost but how do the turf slicks hold up? The cart will be almost exclusively on asphalt.

Finally got the old kart going good

Thanks. Yeah. He bought those tires without me. I said we'll try them but they didn't last that long. He got some from my dad that fit the original wheels and they are much better.

Finally got the old kart going good

My 12 year old son was given an old Manco by his uncle. It hadn't moved in probably 30 years and was really rough but mostly all there. The seat was junk, tires as well but that was to be expected. Over the summer, my son worked hard a mowing yards and earned enough to buy a 212 from HF. We...

    New guy here

I'm Bigtanker. I'm in the Midwest. I found this forum looking for some info on an old Manco kart my son's uncle gave him. We're tossing around some ideas on what's next for the kart. Thanks for the add.
