Clinton A400 or Power Products AH47

I am wanting to keep the kart vintage and return it as close to its former glory as possible with a classic 2 stroke engine. A Predator will not fit on this without modification to the frame, and that is something I am not willing to do to this. I keep searching for something a bit larger than...

Clinton A400 or Power Products AH47

I have a 59 Gopher Kart that I have been trying to find an engine for. I now have a Clinton A400 and a Power Products AH47. Both run pretty well. I do not have a clutch for either yet. In my research I have learned that the AH47 will need to have a clutch made for the small shaft, while the...

Fair Price for a West Bend 580

Thank you. I did do that before asking. As we all know, ebay isn't always a valid reference for "fair" pricing depending on the item. I was looking to validate what I found on ebay. I should have stated that in the original post. Sorry.

Kart Identification and Axle and Hub Help

I was wrong All, I was dead wrong. I just went and measured the axle again. And it is indeed 3/4". No idea how I got it wrong, but I did. The still unfortunate thing is that I still believe that hub is difficult to obtain and that my rear wheels have a strange bolt pattern. Now I know I...

Kart Identification and Axle and Hub Help

It appears that even 5/8" axles are difficult to find. I have found 3/4" axles and even 1 3/8 x 3/4 bearings. So that may be my route when I fully "need" to repair this thing. It will be a bit more costly because I will have to buy and axle, hubs, maybe a new sprocket, and wheels.. grrrr If I...

Kart Identification and Axle and Hub Help

Thank you! I have been unable to find any live axle hub for the 1/2" axle. I have found hubs for a dead axle that I can put the 1 3/8 x 1/2 inch bearings in. http://www.mfgsupply.com/gomini/gominihubs/8-10083.html

Kart Identification and Axle and Hub Help

 Crazykart, thanks! Do you have any interest in selling your extra hub? The axle shaft on my seems like an odd duck. It is 1/2" OD with a 3/16" keyway. I could turn it into a dead axle, but really do like the live axle performance.

Kart Identification and Axle and Hub Help

Kart Axle and Hub Thank you everyone! I will try to get better pics and more of them. I have measured the axle with calipers. It is 1/2" OD and it is a live axle. I have the doughnut marks in the yard to remind me :D Thank you for the kart identification also! It doesn't promising for...

Kart Identification and Axle and Hub Help

Hello, I just purchased a yard kart for my kids, I do not know the brand, and I am in need of some band brake parts and a hub on the sprocket side. The kart has a live rear axle that is 1/2" OD with a 1/4" keyway. When I took the hub off to get to the brake drum I noticed the aluminum hub is...

    Help Identify This Kart Please

Amazing!!! That information is absolutely AMAZING! Thank you so much! What make it cooler, is that Nevada Iowa, is only about 20 miles from where my Father grew up. Based on his birthday, I was guessing it was somewhere between a 1957-1962. Thank you again! I had not idea where to start.

    Help Identify This Kart Please

No offense taken and I can appreciate your passion. Believe me when I tell you I understand about the impact of modifications to the kart. If I make any, they will not be "permanent”. I would use adaptor plates and things. My intention is to preserve the kart, but try to make it reliable...
