It’s definitely a stub axle, right tire spins independent, and when riding the left will spin when it loses traction. I’ll definitely try the oil trick, I also need to loosen the chain as was suggested. Thank you

Thanks for the replies. The clutch sprocket is 10 teeth, axle sprocket is 60 teeth. It’s not a live axle, it’s stub axle I believe

Do you think a predator 3hp would be any better than the old Briggs 3hp?

This kart pictured has a Briggs and Stratton 3 hp engine, it’s kind of a pig to say the least. The problem is I don’t really want to put a 212 on, it’ll be too much for my youngest. Update - the springs did the trick! When I took the old springs off it was obvious one was very stretched out. I put a new set of comet blue springs on and it’s all good now. I’ve learned a lot in my short time here, much thanks to all Merry Christmas

I just read an article describing how to choose and adjust the springs like you recommended, that’s definitely my next move. These go karts are sneaky little things, always slipping their hands in my pocket 😁 Thank you for the advice, much appreciated

They didn’t have any color, just a metal coloring really. Maybe it wore off? I will say that this kart has a lot of low end power, it takes very little acceleration to take off quickly
