electric go kart

hi all im sedgy and new to this forum im from the england uk and ive recently had a bright idea of turning my son pedal go kart into a electric one but i dont want to spend loads as the pedal car is a cheap thing ready for the junk yard lol ive got a winch from a jeep in the shed and the pedal kart do u think i cud use the winch motor to power itits only for my son to use hes 2 years old so not looking for speed just a little fun kart.

sounds like its posable, take some pictures of what your working with and put them up, we might be able to help ya. it might give others ideas for stuff they have sitting around.

i had a friend make one with an old car starter it was freak'n quick though!

i was thinking starter moter but few people on here said it wud burn out ive got a edge trimmer engine on its way to me gona see if its any good if not then im sticking to the electric motor idea

well he did go through a few but his dad owned a salvage yard....plenty of spares!

Something 4 wheel drive with a V8 of course. More of a dune buggy.

How about a sidewinder with a twin and a buggy with a V8

we were only 10 maybe 12 a go cart was more than we could have dreamed of. we had a blast on that thing. wish i had some pics to post, but it was a pretty simple set up a sprocket welded to starter drive and a momentary on switch mounted to the fuel pedal and a relay. it was wide open or nothing..but is there any other way!!!
