I was planning on re-painting the frame, but im lazy and its gonna get beat anyways. I only have $110 into it, and i doubt i'll be selling it anytime soon.

The frame isnt too rusty anyways, just dirty, rustiest part is the front forks.

Anyone know what kind of oil i should use for the tranny? i remember my ts185 took 10-40, so i would assume that would be good for this too...not positive though.

You mean the transmision? My CR250R calls for just a high quality 10W30 motorcycle oil.

yea tranny, the heat is getting to me haha, i probably got more sweat in the crank case than 2 stroke oil when i was assembling the thing, must be 90+ in the shop, at least 80 outside...

It was 105*F where I live today, And the rest of the week! So hot its hard to do anything.

40.5 degrees Celsius, yer that's pretty hot. Im summer in Australia its that heat everyday. They say over 45 degrees and you dont have to do to school, they lie. No aircon and 45 degrees is pretty ****.

Did you have any rust in the tank?

My little 81 ds80 is much faster that my Yamaha gt80's. Nice little bikes with good power band for an 80. You will like it.

Here is how my ds80 ended up. My little brother loves it.

That arrow or point on the head is suppose to point at the valve side right?

The arrow on the piston points toward the exhaust port, no valves its a two stroke.

Bighead, that thing looks good. My tank is in tough shape. I patched a million holes with solder, and it had what i believe was black paint inside.

What did u use for tranny oil?

Yeah, **** it's hot in summer! It's ironic that it's probably not going to stop raining for the next 3 months now..... :toetap05:

Yea it is plenty humid here...I was dying working on this this today, but i did get it to run. Didnt take much, just put the carb on there and a good plug fired right up. Sounds good, maybe a little lean. The carb is in tough shape, i need to clean it better (which is hard seeing as its in REALLY bad shape. Hopefully i can get it all back together soon, gonna wait for it to cool down a bit.
