Ok, I may try to get a refund on that pull start, I pulled it 5 times and the metal wing things that catch the flywheel broke, then I may keep trying with getting it started, I'm not sure though

Hey Russ, I'm rebuilding a 5HP Tecumseh right now, i would trade it for your clone when I'm done.

I'd definately be returning that. Also, this might sound silly, but how's your pull--start etiquette? A lot of people mangle thier recoil assemblies because they just grab the handle and go for the glory! Folks, you're not trying to uproot a tree! Grasp the handle and gently pull toward you. Let the mechanism grab the crank, keep gently pulling until you feel the compression stroke. Then, give it a firm tug to start the engine. Your recoil assembly will love you forever, and your arm will probably be a lot happier, too!

YUP, never had to do this before, but once i overhauled my 8hp briggs, thier was soo much compression that you had no choice but to slowly pull it to compression stroke or else you were just going to break the rope and your arm, lol. This method works wonders!

Yeah, my brother yanked it without letting it catch, so if I can't get a refund he's gonna be paying for it.

I'm looking to get mine running soon and sell it if your interested russ2251... I can take pics and show you what I have... its just missing the recoil starter and air filter cover but that is coming in soon I ordered it from a local shop
