Sadly enough, that's true .......... I used to work at Walmart, though, and quite honestly, management doesn't give a **** about their employees, who are the ones busting their asses so the management can enjoy their bonus checks.
A liittle story about Walmart; First year I was there, the Christmas bonus was over a grand for EACH employee. (Figure 350 employees in my store alone, do the math.) The next year, after some "restructuring," bonus checks came in .... a whopping $167.00. What happened? Not really sure, but about a month later, the store manager came cruising into the parking lot in his brand-new Audi sports car .... overheard him telling one of the assistant managers he'd paid cash for it. Hmmmm .... wonder where my bonus went ....
As if THAT wasn't bad enough, after I left, I heard the following year's "bonus" was a whole $ 47.00, and it was included in the regular payroll. Interesting how in three years, the bonus fell from over $1,000.00 to $167.00 to only $47.00. Wonder where all that money was going .....?
Anyway, I too am out of work, been out of work for over a year - got laid off August 2008 (08-08-08 - never gonna forget THAT date, how's that for coincidence?), so believe me, I know what you're going through. Pretty much my life has boiled down to waking up in the morning, calling all of my temp agencies (four of them) to see if there's any work, then getting online and filling out applications for a good portion of the day. about 90% of the companies will tell you to go back home and go online to www.go-to-our-website-and-click-on-careers.com to fill out an application. (So why the heck did I just drive all the way out here and waste my gas and time when I could've just stayed home and gone on your **** website ....?) It sucks, big-time, but all I can do is keep trying ....

Speaking of unemployment, tomorrow I find out if I'm getting a minimum wage part time(saturday) job sweeping floors in a machine shop.

Have fun man, That also usually includes going in the chip bucket and shoveling shavings and cleaning out hundreds of pounds of filings in the filing tray on older lathes and whatnot.
