I can't see how they were not making money. Don't they supply clutches for snowmobiles?

I located a source in China and purchased one of their TAV2 clutches for testing. So far, the clutch has done well. The Kart I have it on is very light, so I initially noticed the clutch would go into the highest ratio soon after a good launch. So, I tought the driven spring was to blame. I purchased a green and yellow spring from Comet to see if it made a difference, and it has not. It does stay low when going up hill and it almost spins the tires on concrete on launch.

Oddly enough, the single engine kart with the TAV2 like clutch is much faster to about 20MPH than my twin engine Kart with 2 Max Torque centrifugal clutches.

I could likely sell them for about $110 if there was a market. I think this situation is similiar to Honda and the clones. If Honda went out of business, the clones would take up the slack. The tech is somewhat old, not sure if a patent still exists.

this thread....not yet dead.

ok so I just joined the forum so Hello all but I want to say a few things real quick.
1) I used to make car parts and we would all the time put made in Mexico stickers and stamps on them so you never know where your **** comes from.
2) I have not seen anything as far as articles in a reputable paper or magazine stating that comet has went out of buisness or even bankruptcy for that matter so if someone has this info please share.
3)Where can I still order a TAV2 system and not get ripped to much? I found one for $210 but would love to find one cheaper. I got a go kart with ATV tires on the back and a 6.5 tecumseh engine on it but the P.O.S. cent. clutch that i got wont get up and move my 220lb *** very well....but when it does i Moooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeee!
4)does anyone know how to rig stop lights on a go kart along with turn signals if so email me so i dont jack this thread.

I'll be surprised if some Chinese manufacturer doesnt end up cloning your ski winches for 1/3 the retail cost and bankrupts your business too...

No, you hate that they can compete with us(even without ripping off the ideas of others). This has nothing to do with ***** size or flaming homosexuals. There are a lot of internal problems with this country that if solved would allow us to compete with the world.
