Briggs and Stratton CR950 pressure washer engine for go-kart

I have a Briggs and Stratton CR950 engine that came off a pressure washer I was given. The engine is practically brand new. I am wanting to put it on a go-kart for my daughter but I cannot figure out how to get the throttle to work. I know normally pressure washers run at 1 constant RPM the entire time, but obviously the go-kart can’t do that. Anyone have any knowledge, tips, tricks, pictures, videos, etc on how I can make this work?

Even constant RPM engines have a governor. Governors use centrifugal weights to control the throtthe through a lever and a spring. Find that spring and look for a way to pull on that sping to move that lever. Pictures and we can show you the solution.

Lol I should have said we need a pic of the top of the engine also. We can show you where to hook up the cable then.

Should be a metal throttle arm that if followed closer to the engine, will reveal cable tie downs. There are usually two.

In my picture, red clamps the cable sheeth and green clamps the cable. I think my picture is reversed so the orientation may be wrong but thats the idea of what you want to do.

Is it pressure washer or generator engines that have the tapered (unusable) crankshafts?

AI tells me it has a straight shaft. -But then it goes on to say pressure washers use a straight shaft soooo......

Thinking about it now, I think its garden tillers and snow blowers that have the tapered shaft. It makes sense that the higher torque output machines would need the tapered shaft.
