Haha!!! More banging out parts with a stick than nasa! I think it's just a different approach I have taken, instead of making a go kart that looks like a car I wanted a car around the size of a go kart! I am very OCD with certain things, I am never overly concerned with execution as I am with the overall look and feel. It also helps that the cars I am interested in making were not perfect in there day, which gives a lot of room for imperfections. I hope to be able to build a Porsche 908/3, 1975 Ferrari 312t, and a alfa Romeo tipo 33 tt campari livery.

Front motor mounts / down braces done. They where a huge pain because I had to shim and level the frames in the shed and cut and fit everything crawling over it every time then tacking it in there! But I got it! Shift lever and wing mounts and the back frame is ready for paint and assembly!
Ok, long story short, I think everyone is questioning your projects because you do beautiful work and make amazing projects that most of use could only dream of with what you say is your workshop and tools being used. Amazing work none the less. Maybe some more on your background, how you developed these skills with hand tools and how you manage the budget? There are a ton of awesome projects on here I have seen throughout the years, and being a DIY kart forum, we are not used to such detailed replica builds. Just seems unreal for some of us. Take it as a huge compliment!

Haha! I will take it. I think I said on the Ferrari thread, I have a degree in fine arts and am a active building contractor, but I feel my approach is more on the artistic side. I know what I want it to look like and I find a way to get as close as I can, no compromise. When I first started the 312 I had never welded anything, but my friend ( and trim carpenter, drag racer and car builder) helped me get started. Throughout the initial phase he was helping me he was always saying you should just do x, no you should just do y, you should just put a predator motor in it, and my answer was always no, this is the way the real car was! 15 years or so ago when I was modifying motorcycles, I had the same bucket of tools no access to welding, but learned to hunt down parts and specs to figure out what parts from various years and models would work together. This is when I started working with fiberglass, not building full panels but adding and modifying parts. Then it was all on spare time. Now in my mid life crisis I have discovered that I really love doing this type of work and am trying to figure out a way to do things like this for a living rather than building homes! I am essentially doing it full time in my yard untill I can find a way to make a living at it. I learned most in the process of the 312, and some new lessons on this one. It's excruciatingly hot I am all banged up but I am loving every bit of it! I get the sceptical out look. Back in the motorcycle days I was on forums and a new member would jump on with bold plans that I knew were going nowhere, and I was right 99.9% of the time, I think it's always a failure in planning and starting before you know what you want. I go in knowing both and will not give up till I get there or close to it!
