Does it seem like its running lean (like meyby its not getting enough fuel) or too rich with black smoke from exhaust? (like when the choke is stuck on)

ps: If it was running fine before you cleaned the carb, you might have simply reinstalled the float bowl backwards...

no its running the same as before the carb was cleaned. It just wouldnt stay running before. Now it will stay running but sounds like its at full throdle, its running so hard the frame shakes. There is no black smoke. could the srew with the spring (Idle screw maybe) be to tight? or could the linkage springs be in the wrong place? I just got this go-cart and i think the guy that had it before didnt take real good care of it.

So Its Idling way too fast. Yeah either of those things could cause that. Your throttle cable might even be adjusted too tight.

Look inside your carb from the air cleaner end. That butterfly (round disc that opens/closes with throttle position) should be fully, or almost fully closed at idle. If its not you've got something holding it open and causing your fast idle problem.

There should be a spring somewhere pulling the carbs butterfly back to the idle position. If that looks good, try adjusting your idle speed screw. If thats not the problem you'll just have to figure out whats keeping the butterfly from fully closing at idle.

residentg posted a pic of how a Tecumseh throttle/govenor/return spring should be in post #8 of this thread: http://www.diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=4638&highlight=tecumseh
