New kart new member

Well here i am, kiddo talked me into gokart as I had the chance to get one for next to nothin. So I grabbed it up. Now its got some issues to be worked out to say the least lol. But it does run decent and it does drive like crap so its a good starting point! Haha. Anyway, im more a v8 guy so all this is new in my world. I've cruised through some of the threads already great info! And I will be utilizing it, and im sure I will find more as I go. Feast your eyes on this thing, haha its not bad just need some attention. Have no idea who manufactured it, only markings are warning stickers lol

Definitely not the original engine, needs some work on the throttle cable cannot be hanging like that, the kart will handle a couple of kids but would be a real workout for some big adults. Cannot tell real height of the tires but if the ground to the top of the tire is 13" or less the clutch will handle it but a torque converter can take a lot more abuse. A clutch only has one speed -petal to the metal and never any good in a parade driving slow will kill a clutch in less than a block in a parade.

It is a nice kart, perfect to work on and easy to find parts for.

Looks like a Murry kart.

I'd ditch that clutch and put a tav 30 on it.
The cheap ones work fine but get a Genuine Comet or Rotary branded belt for it.

And like Jim said, that throttle cable needs to be rerouted better.

Im betting without looking at it they are under 13". Im mostly all off road where i live, but have land for him to run it around on. I think at the moment front driver wheel need to be replaced as the bearing is completly gone and dragging the spindle, so ive gotta pick up a wheel and spindle if need be. Im trying to get it rolling so he can have fun with it till winter then its gonna go under some redoing and modifications. It is a predator 212cc non hemi from what I can tell and supposedly its been rebuilt recently and running lean

Yea that cable is definitely sub-par, thats another issue that needs to be rectified.

Wow, that spindle is toast.
Check the usual sites for kart parts.
Parts are pretty generic and non model specific. Go by dimensions. 5/8 spindle with what ever bore you need for the kingpin.

Go power sports.
BMI karts.
Azusa usa.
VMC chineese parts
To name a few.

I emailed gokartgalaxy, he said it looks to be a one off size and all his are 2.5". But thats only one of many places I can look. If I can find it I have a disc cutter and welder and im not afraid to use it hahahha! im wanting to put a suspension on the kart anyway in winter maybe, all depends on how beat to death i get when winter hits lol

I did measure a minute ago. Front and rear tires are about 14.5" ground to top, on 6" rims.

Not that you need more work to do, but if your usage is mostly off road ( and especially if a young driver ) is involved lots of stop and go, a 30 series torque converter will really work out a lot better for you.
