Manco Deuce 612 Comet FNR transaxle

So I managed to find the needle in a haystack and have my Deuce 612 back on the grass. I am finding lots of information about the transaxle in the bigger 618 cart which is a Dana H12 I believe. It uses 80W-90 and a bit of friction modifier. I can't seem to find squat about what the 612 uses. I want to be as careful as I can with this as the 612 transaxle is somewhat prone to failure as is.

Does anyone happen to know if the Comet box in the 612 uses friction modifier as well?

Don't know anything about the transaxle, but motorcycle wet clutches typically use a lube with a friction modifier additive. If it's anything like it, I'd use the same type of lube.

The gearing is only directional so it doesn't shift on the fly unless you want to break something. I wouldn't think there is even a clutch inside.

Oh man, I remember the days when some manual transmissions used motor oil, like 10W-30 and the like. I don’t see anything special inside that exploded parts view so maybe you can get by with keeping it as simple as can be. Something like 80W-90 as you mentioned previously should do. I would use full synthetic from a “premium” brand.
