Hello there, I recently picked up a barely used 2021 edition for my grandson and it runs very well. The drawback is that it goes way to fast for a beginner and can't seem to find any speed control for this model. Is there one and where is it located? I see the initial take off control bolt at the pedal, but once it gets going it goes to the max.
Suggestions?
Thanks,
Steve

He’l figure it out on his own. You can’t govern them down. Punish bad behavior and reward good behavior with more gas for the kart.
Hot tip! YOU CANT SLOW KIDS DOWN, they only want to go faster!

Most people complain that these fun karts are way too slow and/or the usual complaint is ”kart no go”. 😏

Part of the problem could be a cable issue. Ensure the throttle cable on the kart is smooth, non binding and has no sharp turns or kinks in it. Also make sure the pedal returns or snaps back to neutral when the foot is taken off. This can be enhanced with a strong return spring both at the pedal and the engine. You may also choose to lubricate the cable, always a good idea on a kart where water and debris can readily enter the cable conduit on account of it being horizontal and near the ground. The cable can flash-rust inside its conduit/sheath in 12-24 hours and then it may seize or be grindy and rough.

Also, make sure the kill switch is in good working order and accessible. Stuck throttles do happen and you get a runaway kart on occasion.

Had this happen with the cruise control cable in my car.

-While I was going about 70mph on the highway, I clicked it up about 5 times and nothing happened. Held it and nothing for a second, then felt it downshift and got pinned to my seat. Thank god I believe in brakes before speed. With cars at least...
