need help identifying buggy. i just bought a buggy style gokart that is big and spacecious. definitely a fixer upper but i can't for the life of me figure out what it is. it's got a water cooled engine, and rear swing arm style independent suspension. has two chains. the seats on it are not what came with it for sure lol. it's also missing a radiator and lights and other various small things. also included an emblem that seems to be welded to the frame so may be stock emblem?

A side view from a distance, 15 feet away or so, and on the ground would help immensely as that’s the way most are photographed.

Cool drive system, “that thing ain’t got no axle bro” (at least in the conventional sense). The rear end reminds me of a tractor wherein you can stop one wheel and make the other go.

It’s Chinese, I can tell you that.

I’m feeling some deja vu. Who here posted a similar kart, very recently, that had a water cooled engine and trailing arm suspension? I think the engine cylinder pointed straight up vertical.

Cant find it but I think we were all kinda stumped on the model. OP said he thought he knew what it was. Has a frame similar to a Talon with IRS and CVs.

it's kinda like a kandi cart but seems bigger. the engine is definitely bigger i think it's a big bore typ gy6 like the 300ish cc engine. kandi and massimo look the closest but can't find one with this rear suspension setup. it's got me and google ai pretty stumped

Closest I can find that seems to match the frame shape is something called a Spider or Extreme Spider. Can find similar frames sold by Massimo as well.

For example "Extreme SPIDER 300GK EFI Go Cart Go Kart Off Road Dune Buggy"

Spider 300GK EFI features a tough water-cooled 300cc, four-stroke engine and automatic transmission with reverse for excellent power and easy drivability.

Spider 300GK EFI rides on a full suspension capable of tackling the toughest terrain and smoothing out the roughest bumps. The big, 21 inch tires up front and even bigger 22 inches in the rear coupled with front and rear hydraulic disc brakes provide exceptional traction and cornering on off-road trails. Includes a full compliment of lights, turn signals, sport bucket seats and safety harnesses.

Or here:

Obviously the rear end does not match yours but that could simply be the difference between a 2022 and a 2023 model, or what-not, but see if the specifications match what you have; length, width, wheelbase, tires sizes etc., etc.

that does look similar! i'll do measurements and if it's close, then maybe i can find a cart with a similar suspension setup in the rear and do some modifications if needed

Hope you didn’t pay too much for it. 😬

These Chinese mass produced “go kart atv utv dune buggy side by side buggy” machines are maddening. They're mass produced and the “brand” and “model number” are an afterthought and can change on a whim. If you search up “200-250cc dune buggy go kart” on sites like Made-In-China or Alibaba, they don’t have names but just a description …and there’s multitudes of similar looking vehicles in cyberspace.

Are there any markings, decals, serial numbers or labels of any kind on it? Even an engine number could help. Looks like it got attacked by the flat black rattle-can enamel treatment, to make it look mo‘ better, so any labels could be lost under the paint, idk.

i haven't checked the engine yet, but everywhere else i could not find a serial number or anything of relation. there is a sticker on the driver side but it's rattle canned over so no luck there. i think the frame is mostly solid for a good fun build, but my biggest concern is the reverse drive box in the picture. idk how much power it could hold cause i have my hands on a 1200 harley engine. but i also have a 250 honda rebel engine too. i want a smaller vtwin with 5 speed.

I wouldn't worry about what it is exactly.
Its a china kart. And a really cool one at that.
Most parts are gonna be generic china kart stuff.
A few better pics of the engine and we might help with a better id.

Look at VMC Chinese parts. Com for stuff.
Alot of it is just visual matching.

Whatever it is, the rear end is like two motorcycle swing arms complete with a sprocket and disk brake assembly, each. Pretty darn spiffy! It has good ground clearance down the middle, at least you can straddle some nice rocks and stuff. 😎
