I say go for it. I realize there are some different tire/wheel combos at HF. I am talking about the cheapest pneumatic knobby wheels they sell. This guy used some HF wheels (he claims) but they look quite decent with that black rubber grease seal 'tween the inner and outer race but I can't find them on their site. Wheels discussed about the 4:17 timestamp. His project kart is lightweight in the frame, rider and engine and he admits they'll probably be fine.
