Is kart fab still in business? I went to site that pops up on every search but there is no contact info. He did mention this forum in his bio on how he got started. Still can't find the pedal or throttle rod so will have to make a spring work. Just not sure of best set up for it. I did put the predator on it and the clutch is no where near aligned with sprocket.

I ordered 1" but of course brush gard tubing is 3/4" od. So had to order more. Not happy unless I have to buy everything 2-3 times. Haha. Can I use washers behind clutch to bring out to align with sprocket or do I need to buy a shaft collar?

He is a member here but I would say he is on "hiatus". Not sure about his business but his last video was 5 years ago. Hope he is well.

Have you considered using a coil extension spring on the pedal? The kind of spring on Grandpa's screen door that slams it shut. You just need a place on the frame to secure it.

I have never seen used like that but shoot. I can't even find regular parts. Is it okay to put washers behind clutch? I need about 1/2" to line up sprocket.

Should I keep the motor?

In another thread you asked this question:
The black hawk came with a old briggs fun power. Should I keep it? Would it be worth fixing? There is no way it is original engine

What makes you say there's no way it is the original engine?

By the very nature that it is a Briggs Fun Power engine (designed for go karts and minibikes), it came with your kart and that Brister's has a long habit of using red Briggs engines (Fun Power or not) on its karts, I have to conclude that this points to a very high probability that it is the original engine.

Yes, you should keep it and fix it up if it is feasible to do so... [but that's another rabbit hole]. If I were you I would have assessed the engine before buying a new one but I know how to fix them and you probably didn't want another rabbit hole to go down. There is a lot to be said for keeping things original.....

There's a serial number code stamped into the red blower shroud that includes a manufacture date. IF the engine is original to the kart, the date code from the engine can pinpoint the date the kart was manufactured, or be very close to it.

Look at the BIG BRAIN on you sir!

I do have a ginormous hat size, so how did you know?
Lol

SWEET! I'll check it tomorrow.

It should start with the number 13 (displacement in cubic inches). Write down the entire code and post it on the forum, I'm sure we're all curious to see what it is [maybe Fun Powers have unique features?] and I have never seen a serial number code from a Fun Power. YOU can decode it with this handy decoder:

At the bottom of that document is the date decoder.
