How to slide my key way/ hub over for wider wheel?

how can i get the keyway/hub loose to slide it over closer to the end of the axel needing help so I can fit a wider wheel any help is much appreciated thank you!

Remove the screw in red to loosen the hub. Is that a groove on the end of the axle at the green arrow? Looks like a circlip might go in that groove to keep the hub on, not sure because the view is obscured. Make sure there is nothing in the groove.

If the hub is stuck on the axle by rust, corrosion, galvanic corrosion etc., then you may need to resort to penetrating fluid, brute force, a blow torch, cursing, hammer blows with a punch, more cursing and maybe a gear/pulley/flywheel puller.

The lines in yellow represent a punch which is like a chisel but is flat on the end. A punch tapped with a hammer in the two areas, alternating back and forth, may drive the hub off the axle. Good luck

thanks for your help and pictures helped gave me a visual, big slide drift papi no slide is hilarious.

Let us know if/when you get it off Papi. We love happy endings here. If you end up destroying the hub but get it removed, that is also a win because the hub is basically expendable. :cheers2:

are hubs specific to axels or universal? and I don’t need it off exactly but I was wondering if it could slide the way I pointed in the original image cause i’m trying to fit a 12x9-6 but i’m hitting my sprocket cover etc…

You have about a half an inch of axle space left to move the hub outward. Loosening that allen screw that Hellion circled in red should allow the hub to move. Bang it gently with a rubber mallet till it moves. Like WTR said, if you need more room, need a wider axle shaft.

He's right you know ⬆️... and a rubber mallet (or a plastic tipped hammer or one of those bright orange rubber-coated deadblow hammers) is a splendid idea.

Shouldn't be specific although there may be some hubs that are specific to the manufacturer, like an odd size. As long as the ID of the hub matches the OD of the axle it should be fine.

How about a photo of the whole rear end of the kart, wheel to wheel or hub to hub. 🤳
