I'm thinking of building a go-kart and using a 7-horsepower engine. Do you think it would be enough?

Yes, it will be more than enough for most on or off road karts.

I would like to drive a Honda, but it is too expensive for Türkiye. 200cc Hondas are $600
There aren't many engine options, and the quality ones are expensive for our budget.

That leaves Chinese-made engines...Locin, Kama, and Ima, etc.

Since I'll be using it on the street, I'm considering an electric motor in the future, as people might be bothered by the noise of a gasoline engine over time.

here in usa we have on line sellers. amazon ebay ect. amazon has good selection of 7 hp motors with electric start or without . prices are usually under $200

Honda engines are expensive in the states as well, but I have no taste for them and I like low cost. Luckily we have access to the Chinese engines and their various "brands". Predator is one of the best Honda clones and people have tested Predator against Hondas and they are very close in overall quality.

I think the Predator 6.5 HP is actually made by Loncin or Lifan....

Noise is something to consider and I also do not want to be too noisy, I don't want to be that noisy obnoxious guy, so that is why I stopped using an 'open' exhaust pipe and went back to using either a factory box muffler or a screw on 'sausage' muffler.

I researched the Predator brand bikes. A few YouTubers in the US were using them, but unfortunately they are not available in Türkiye.

The picture of the engine you posted looks a lot like the Chinese engines we get here in America. For $120 and available to you, I say buy it. You'll be fine. Build your go kart first and get it running with the stock engine. After that we'll share some of our hop up speed secrets with you. Keep it gasoline. More fun.

Well you are in luck, making an engine turn faster is a topic that is all over Youtube, I just hope the videos you watch have subtitles enabled and you can make sense of the translation.

What is the karting ‘scene’ like in Türkiye? Is it popular?
