Meanwhile back at the shop....
l got off my lazy butt and got back in the game finally.
it felt great getting dirty, sweaty, and bloody!
l wasn't working very long when l was savagely attacked by a rogue sprocket. This sprocket is a ghost of projects past and obviously had a vandetta.
Once the bleeding stopped, l started the process of harvesting parts from the donor.
this is gonna be a long process....

Are you going to incorporate that shaft drive? Never messed with one. I'm curious how your gonna do it.

I'm gonna try to use the shaft drive setup. I'm thinkin the shaft adapted to a Miata diff.
would be nice to be chainless, unchained, dechained or otherwise without a chain.
Don't know if l can make it work or not, but l think l can.
stay tuned for some real ghetto fab!

not sure, but I think it has something to do with being decommissioned and returned to the spare parts pile, from where it came.

This shaft drive thing is looking do able. I love a good challenge. When ya only have one chance, the game is on! One mistake and i'll be riding this thing to the scrap yard.

Once you finish it ( with that engine ) One mistake and you'll be riding it right up to St. Peter's Pearly Gates. Love the power that thing is going to be putting out.

Just realized ( and maybe I'm slow ) that your engine has a complete differential attached to, or built into the engine cases. That's a pretty sophisticated piece of machinery.

In Kawasaki speak, those are bevel gearboxes. There is one in the rear hub also. Thats a complete ring and pinion. I think i can make this shaft drive thing work.

Saturday, l called a meeting of all department leaders to plan a stratagy for this project.
l heard moaning from all departments, then it deterioated into a shouting match.
You have any idea how distracting it is when all 13 of the voices inside yer head start shouting all at once?
I adjourned the meeting and all of us sat down and had a few beers....
