Wonder if Robert could implement a thing where new members cannot post for 'x' amount of time and they have to verify their account or something? I know the old rule was that you could not post stuff up for sale, trade, or what have you until you've hit 10 legitimate posts on here.

Going by another thread, this only really started just after the major reset. Some setting had to change. I wonder if this is what caused the issues before. Someone probing to see what it would take to just do a massive spam dump.

This is why oldminibikes.com closed the doors to any new members till they figure out how to fix it. I've suggested the human verification steps that other sites use if you want to join the community.

Mytractorfourm.com requires new members to wait until an admin accepts the account. If I recall, you could only post in the new members only area, until they know if you're legit or not.

Is that what happened? Thanks for the intel. I might have guessed that was the reason but I don't assume much of anything anymore.

Hi all. So it looks like the spam is less than last week, but I have absolutely no idea if it was Robert looking at the website or if it just naturally slowed down.

I sent Robert a message last week regarding the mess, but I am not sure if he saw it and acted on it. All the suggestions in this thread are good ones, but unfortunately Robert is the only one who is able to change anything in the forum software so we will just have to wait to see what happens. I will pass along the recommendations.

GREAT JOB on the sweep and mop-up, Landuse.

Is there a way to support the forum? I want to be a premium member with a "badge" and I want to be a moderator! LOL
I'm serious on the first part.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot... I don't even know where to begin. I'll give points for being straight to the point and creative.

Probably the most annoying thing, is having to wait over a minute in between reports. Look I understand the reasoning, at the same time though, hard to flag so many as spam and scams.
