I purchased a 125 CC modern clone engine with internal C.Di box the only wires coming from the engine? Are the 5 wires coming from the stater? Most everybody knows what color those are. 2 yellows, one black with red 1 green, 1 blue with white stripe. I also mounted the supplied voltage regulator and coil. The only wires I have are the ones coming from the stater. Any suggestions on how to wire this engine? I'm also running a battery for power supply. I have swapped everything over on this mobility scooter to U S gokart parts one inch reaper, axle, 3 hole
K tires front suspension is All American racing. I'm fairly good at electrical wiring on motorcycles. And such I have the motor turning over But I cannot generate spark. The 125 CC engine has a dedicated C. D. I plug and box attached. The only wires coming out of this engine are the 5 . I am completely at a loss on how to generate spark. The motor turns over fine. Thanks

Pretty sure how you can tell if it's a DC CDI or an AC CDI is by turning on the headlights. If they illuminate with the engine off it's a DC CDI. If they illuminate only with the engine running it's an AC CDI.
I have no lights....yet. I have installed this motor on a Mobility scooter frame, just trying to fire the plug. Wiring lights should l be a breeze.

Your best friends when dealing with this stuff are a multimeter and a 12 volt test light. Takes a lot of guesswork out of the equation. Jumper wires with alligator clips on the ends are a plus also. Stay with it, you'll get it. Post any results.

This engine definitely has an internal CDI? Everything I look into shows an external CDI. Is this your engine?
