Jackshaft sprocket position

Im installing a 420cc engine and 40 series TC with 14t drive sprocket on a Murray Hard Drive and want to keep the standard jackshaft (26t in, 10t out) and 36t axle sprocket.
Now…. The only way for all this to fit is by having the jackshaft mounted in front of the engine. Will this be ok?
Basically, the drive sprocket on the TC will be behind the jackshaft.

Thanks, I was just overthinking ‘as usual’ that the driven part/tension on the chain would be on the bottom so any slack due to gravity could cause chain to try and jump a tooth or cause premature sprocket wear.

For educational purposes, the original setup on the Murray Hard Drive is a dual chain jackshaft setup and the reduction gear is situated behind the engine slightly, and the final drive chain goes forward to the axle.

Will be interesting to see what you come up with, Dewindoeth, as that is a lot of mechanical complexity. The usual course of action is to eliminate the jackshaft assembly and run the TC/CVT in its place.

Yes, basically there’s no room to add a 60t sprocket on the axle unless I cut the frame. So wanting to keep the original 36t axle sprocket and jackshaft setup. But due to the 40 series torque converter, I will have mount the jackshaft in front of the engine as opposed to rear.
