I have a similar kart. You either need to flip the axle and relocate the rear brake caliper or come up with a jackshaft setup.

I went with a 420 rather than the 212 and Im glad I did. The 420 is barely enough and a week after the install I already had a plan to upgrade most of the internals.

I also had to extend the swing arm about 10" to fit the 420.
What size chain did you get ?

If it helps heres a kart I converted from gy6 to big block - 40 series.

The jackshaft makes it easy , factory rear axle sprocket . Plenty of room

Before we go any further, Sergio needs to test fit his new Predator 420cc engine on the buggy. Just place it in there and prop it up with scrap lumber, jack stands or whatever in the place where it is likely to be mounted permanently. Then he can see how it will fit and if there is any interference between the luggage rack/fuel tank or something else. There may not be an issue at all with the engine and its factory fuel tank, muffler and air cleaner assembly....

There's a trend in our community with removing small engine fuel tanks and making them remote from the engine. If it's a go kart, a fella will mount it on the highest point on the back of the seat, or maybe between his legs and run extra fuel line to the engine. If it's a minibike, they take the tank off and put it (or a new teardrop fuel tank) on the top tube like a real motorcycle. Assuming the 420cc fits fine, is there any sense in keeping both the Predator 420cc's factory gas tank and the buggy's factory tank intact? Maybe connect them both and use a selector valve to switch between "main" and "reserve" tanks?

I appreciate the advice definitely. I am going to check today when I get home. If I can use the buggy gas tank then I will just remove the 420 tank and funky with a hose and filter. But if it does not fit then I just remove the rack. I will be posting pictures of the progress as I go. Thanks a lot once again

10 tooth coming off the driven clutch and 60 on the axle. This is the combination that everyone suggests for a good mid ground between acceleration and speed. It can hit 45 on a slight uphill with two adults in it.

I had to play with the gov/throttle linkage and drill a couple new holes to get it that fast. Before that, top speed was 38.
