I found a full suspension go cart on Marketplace for cheap, sold the motor (yamaha 450 quad motor) and am building it up.

Welcome to the forum. Why did you sell the 450? Sounds like it would have been killer to have that kind of power.

For an adult, kids not so much. The 390 will still have plenty of torque with the torque converter, plus no shifting. My wife works in a hospital and has seen more than her fair share of adult that crash stuff and are paralyzed.
