No Hack, nothing is sacred anymore. Let's just be glad that electric car sales are starting to tank. I read about this thing ( coming in the future ) almost two years ago when everyone and all of Detroit was all giddy about the coming of the electrical wave. Turns out the public, and the cars themselves aren't really ready for the real world the way we use our vehicles. Have faith. I've also read that Chevrolet has a supercharged gas burning vette producing over 1000 hp that will available as a 2025 or 2026 model. Don't remember which. So maybe the gasoline Gods are starting to smile on us again. I would be curious to know how many E-Rays Chevrolet ends up selling.

The Z06 option 1,000hp is available now but don’t expect to actually buy one. The billionaires got production all tied up for a while due to the limited numbers being produced. Don’t worry they still make lowly gassers with only 600+hp.

Hack, Denny, and all other horsepower enthusiasts. I doubt that any of us ( myself included) will be in the market for this car any time soon, like never.
But still you have to admire, more like auh struck, that American ingenuity is able to produce this vehicle. 1000 horsepower, and with a warranty. While the price is steep, and out of the reach of most, this American car competes with, and puts to shame ( performance wise ) many cars costing 4 to 8 times as much money. From a die hard Ford guy, my hats off to the Chevrolet motor company and all involved in the development of our American Icon.

I agree, and for the less purist among us, the rumored Zora edition allegedly has over 1200 HP with the addition of the electrified front end of the E-Ray.

The whole point of post # 1, was to express the HORROR of the addition of an electric motor to the Corvette. Americas one and only true sports car for more than 70 years. You have clearly swallowed the Kool-Aid.

While an all wheel drive 700-800HP 6 speed vette would be over the top cool. Leave the electric shyt for the grocery getters (sorry Kevin). Lets just leave this one thing alone. Seriously what car nut with $100K+ to blow on a fun car wants this shyt?
Most of us geezers have had some purdy cool rides over the years, I doubt anyone of that vintage would would want that vette thing. (even if money was no object).

No substitute for recycled Dinosaur fuel. I love the smell of diesel in the mornin....

My last "chick magnet". Now I wish I could find a degausser!
Sold the chick magnet and got a more "appropriate" car.
Still need the degausser!

Electricity is for appliances, not vehicles, imo.
I don't know. The Audi S1 Hoonitron is nutty; I feel like the possibilities of electric fun cars hasn't been fully explored. For the weight, Electric can deliver much more torque. Its the battery that's the issue. I think once we get a super light/ efficient/ cheap battery, a light electric car (think miata) could be a lot of fun, with torque vectoring, AWD/RWD/FWD selectively, and the instant torque making donuts acheivable with a smaller weaker motor in each wheel.
