Live Axle Kits??

Hello, I’m building a racing lawn mower just for fun and I’ve completed everything I need to do except for the rear end. I am looking for recommendations of cheap live axle kits. I’ve seen some for like $80, but are those quality? I don’t really want to spend more than $150, but if that’s not possible then oh well. Just wondering what’s gonna be the best bang for my buck. Thanks yall. Might I add that it needs to be about 30” in length and I would like it to fit the stock lawn mower tires, which appear to be right in between a 1/2” and 3/4” shaft, not sure if anybody has any insight on that. The lawn mower is a craftsman lt2000 if that helps. The all red body version.

Ha, go figure. I have the same 1 only I use mine for mowing.

Which appear to be right between 1/2" and 3/4". Think maybe it's 5/8". Just a wild guess. Why don't you grab a set of calipers and accurately measure it. Or you could always just buy 5 or 6 different sizes. One of them would probably fit.

Could wrap a string around it.
Circumference = Diameter x 3.13159
Diameter = Circumference / 3.14159

Still say $15 set of Harbor Freight calipers would be a LOT more accurate. If you are going to be building things ( automotive, go kart, lawnmower, or anything of mechanical nature) they are indispensable. Every guy that builds stuff should own them. String is for flying kites and playing with yo yo's.

In some cases you can also use a soft tape measure, like a seamstress use. Works great on measuring the circumference.
