Top of my motor busted open. Any ideas on what happend

Dummy with engines did recently adjust valves to .003 I know I had them set properly.. just trying to figure out if it's something I did. The cart is about 10 years old

Damn that's where the governor arm is ain't it smh I never pulled a spring across it to lock it out when I put the new carb on. I'm guessing that's what happen?

You now have the best opportunity to open it up and learn how to build engines.
Seriously. You need to open it and remove the govenor parts that are about to grenade your engine, if it hasn't already.

Its way past the time to build THAT engine. Your block is broken. I guess you could try to J B weld it as that is not a pressure point, providing you remove the complete governor system. Obviously you didn't prior to your blowup. Dozens, if not hundreds of videos on how to CORRECTLY modify these small engines. If you have the money, buy a new one and then do it right.

I really don't understand why people always think their engine will run better or faster after removing the governor. All I did was re adjust my springs an mine runs faster with no problems.

and what kind of adjustments you did?

Because the stupid plastic parts can't handle the higher rpm and fly apart. When they do they fall into more critical components of the engine and cause catastrophic damage.

Oh man, that was over 10 yrs ago. I believe in total we shorten the 2 springs in the picture an the solid rod about 1/4" . It is a 6.5. H.p. g.h. I'm aware this is a predator site.

Correct........... I thought he meant the valve springs.

That's funny. All I ment was there is alot of talk on that engine here. Someone else told me that out here. Not trying to hurt anyone's feelings.
