40hp twin monster on rubber engine mounts just like the way the factory intended. All your teeth would rattle out of your head within seconds if this brute of an engine was hard mounted.CEAF0F3C-F8F6-4822-8236-1B8DE78C71A2.jpeg

My Pa panzer has a pulley chain drive system and the Briggs 7hp is mounted on rubber engine mounts from factory 1966.. You can still buy the rubber mounts from a website that specializes in panzer restorations today. 5BB56C43-CB3B-41C1-A0E2-392231131735.jpeg

Heck my buddy has bookoo money and nice Harley's... Like really really nice Harley's.. I asked him one day why the v-twin on his Harley shook so bad and even told him that can’t be normal? The v-twin is rubber mounted... He and many many of his buddies riding with him assured me that like his AND There bikes also it was normal the engines are on rubber mounts.

You get by with it because you have a belt going from the engine. The Harley’s get by with it because they use a metal interlocking mount just like a car has. You have to remember our engines are mounted on slotted plates. With nothing to keep them from sliding.

The only reason that thing doesn't derail the chain is that the chain is twice the width of the sprockets. No body said verbatim that it isn't possible... it's simply illogical and not cost effective.

I was going to elaborate and expound that using a 1/2" pitch chain in an excessive width is one of the few ways to get away with it.

As for your Harley commentary, not only is the transmission separate of the engine block, but it is belt connected most often with a 3" or 4" wide cogged belt, and the final drive on a large majority are a 3/4" or 1" wide V belt which is infinitely more forgiving than a chain in terms of flex and alignment shifting.

The most important fact you are neglecting to consider it you are comparing FACTORY BUILT to backyard built and the two will NEVER have a comparable nature regardless of how "professional" the builder is or their skill level is.

ya the fact op’s torque converter was bolted to the engine slipped me.. I can’t directly tell from his pictures but it looks as if he Needs the riser plate that can shift the engine over like on MB’s or whatever China bike needs those. He could also probably buy a kohler mount from a wheelhorse and drill his karts mount pattern into the legs so the engine stays on the slides. E6D1C5C8-59F4-4DCC-8E00-FC8AE69DBBA6.jpeg

Nah, he's perfectly aligned and only needs to remove the rubber junk and add a chain now that he has correctly oriented the CVT back plate as instructed.
