I have a Duromax 440 going into a golf cart. It has a NRracing Honda ported head with small intake port head milled .025, 275 cam all the billet stuff. Advanced to 34 BTDC.
I have a Mikuni 34 mm round slide. What jets do I want to go with. I’m thinking 185 main? It has a 240 in it now. Haven’t started it yet.

Here's some useless info for ya. probably has little or nothing to do with your setup. I have a GX390 with cam, head, billet stuff, bla bla bla, the same carb. Its happy with a 210 main and 17.5 pilot. Maybe a starting point for ya....

First thing I'm seeing is that your carb is a definitely a little small. One or two sizes under the calculation makes for easier tuning than going too big, but more than that leaves power on the table.

√(440)×2=41.95 (40mm)

√(389)×2=39.44 (38mm)

Nobody can legitimately give you an accurate answer to jetting specs that will be correct. At best they can get you into a ballpark within a few sizes to be able to figure it out and dial it in.

There are too many variable beyond the engine and its upgrades that determine your A/F needs.

1. Fuel atomizes differently at different ambient temperatures.

2. Air fuel ratios vary by altitude due to the available ppm of oxygen in the atmosphere to get the job done most efficiently.

3. Air filter (density and breathability) and exhaust (diameter, length, bend count and angles, silencer, spark arrestor) all change fuel needs by shocking amounts.

@Master Hack 's numbers could be a valid starting point, but due to unknown variables and the fact his engine is of smaller displacement, guestimate is about its worth because even two 100% identical engines just will not tune and run 100% identically due to the very small differences you can't see with just you're eyes.

Start with what the carb came with.
Work with what your momma gave ya.
Then adjust.

Little Bob, Big Bob here! The carb came with a 240 or 260 jet! I know that is too big. I may start with a 210-220 and see what I got. Usually changing jets is easy with these carbs, but the way the engine is mounted in the go cart I have to remove the carb to get to it!
I'll try a 210 and set the needle mid way and go from there. I'm not sure what pilot jet I have. Next week I'll pull the carb and se what is what.

Mine had a 240 originally.

Interestingly enough the elevation here is 200 ft. where we go in the desert is 4700 ft elevation. With the above mentioned jetting I was fully expecting to make some changes when we went up 4500 ft, but it really made no significant difference.

I find that extremely odd! SO odd that I have to ask... what about the ambient differences?

I know my carb is a bit undersized given that √(208)×2= 28.84 (28mm which I'd go Genuine PWK for) and Im running a Koso PWK copy at 24mm.
When I went from 970ft ele avg to my current 2200ft ele avg it caused a whole slew of way lean issues.
Can I rule out leaks developed in transit contributing to that? Honestly No I can't.

Having since corrected some intake issues, exhaust issues, swapped in a mild cam and 22# springs I've only driven my jetting up from 39p/100m to 48p/125m and I need to wait a bit for a clean plug read as to whether I've overshot or am still running hot... it did stop cooking 2000°F rated ceramic header enamel off so that's a good sign at least
