im looking for a 3/4 bore brake disk for my axle. im running a brake band now but with a 16 hp motor i dont think that will have to much stopping power. ive looked every were on line with no luck. they are all 1 inch or bigger.and changing my axle to 1 inch is not an option. thanks for all input

I have not looked, but can you get a 3/4" hub of some sort that a disc can attach to?

Why is 1" not an option? How bad do you want better braking?
Try this-
1) Get yourself a caliper, any caliper
2) Get a sprocket hub for 3/4" shaft
3) Use a SPROCKET for a brake disk. (I'm about to do this on my kids' kart)
4) Stop better.

Cheers! Chris

How about cutting a 1/4" keyway section out of a bushing like this: http://grizzly.com/products/G2450
And then use it to adapt a 1" rotor hub to fit your 3/4" axle. You'd then just need to find some appropriate 1/2" x 1/4" bar stock for a custom sized key to lock it all down to your axle.

Depending on how your rotors set screw system is designed, you might also need to drill a hole(s) through the bushing and use longer set screws if necessary so they go up against (or possibly through) the axle just like origanaly intended.

lemegacool that disc is a 1 inch bore, i also have a 3/4 inch shaft on my kart and the best solution i can think of is using a 1 inch bore disc plus a bushing to reduce it to 3/4

why you dont think the 3/4 will hold up with the 16 hp motor.so i should start collecting the parts for a 1 inch axle now.

if you go the bushing route, you could put 3/4" locking collars on either side of the disc hub to hold it in place. you still need a key to keep it from spinning.

i got it. i can burn a coller on the plasma table the thickest i can burn is 3/8 steel. a 3/4 bore and a 1 inch O.D and weld it on a disc. that should work as long as its true right. do you think i can make my own disc out of like 12 gauge steel. just thought of that one. i can burn most any thing at work.
