Used wrong two stroke oil help

So I bought the kart it ran for a little then I was told they put marine two stroke oil in it and shortly after riding it , it wouldn't start.

I put the proper mix in and now it seems it doesn't want to start what's my next step? It's a yz125cc 2 stroke shifter kart.

Remove the exhaust and check the piston for scratchs/ scour lines / stuck rings.

Might want to look into the cost of resleeve + new piston/ rings

The marine oil won't instantly kill the motor, it is still a liquid cooled motor.
Not ideal, but should be ok. The motor might have been on it's last leg, and seller
decided to dump it.

Lets hope not, have ya thrown a fresh spark plug in it?

Thank you ! I'll try this and see what happens ! I got a new spark plug that wasn't the issue. I hope it's not the motor.

While you have the muffler off for kicks try starting it. If the muffler is plugged it will not start or run.

Help me out here.............If I were to cut that muffler in cross-section, what would I see? Could excessive oil blowing through the exhaust (previous owner's grossly bad guess at the proper mix ratio) stop up whatever material is in there? Something like fiberglass packing, maybe? Lava rock spark arrestor material, maybe? What else besides oil could suddenly stop it up?

Big chunks of carbon and solidified oil.

1- Did you check the kill switch?

2- Does the engine still feel like it has good compression when you try push starting the kart?

3- Are you getting spark?

4- Does it try to run for a second if you prime it?

Yeah, plugged exhausts are a thing.
Part of my off season small engine prep was to stuff a wad of steel wool into the exhausts to keep the varmints at bay.

Even the 2 strokes with tiny exhaust outlets attracted mud daubers.
One filled up the outer portion of the muffler which cleaned up easy enough.
Another filled it up right to the port, I was lucky the piston had stopped in a position that it blocked the cylinder.
I found that golf tee's are a good plug for that.

Chainsaws tend to have a very aggressive spark arrestor screen that can plug pretty easy.

There's two different types of oil for 2 strokes, a mix oil and one for oil injection. If you put the wrong oil in with an oil injection, you just wasted a lot of money. Not sure if the same is true with a mix.

Very smart material! Too dense to get through, easy to stuff tight, stainless ones won't rust, inexpensive..............etc., happy to learn that one.

If it runs on alcohol I think you use a castor oil in it. Not sure completely, I never ran one.

I can't imagine that did too much to it unless you aren't telling us everything and romped on it for a while.

Did you happen to leave the old fuel in there ad now you have gas with too much oil?

What was burning? Was it excessive oil in the exhaust?
