This is a kart that I had sitting around for probably 6yrs. Decided it was time for a complete custom job on this classic. Alot of parts powder coated including frame. 420 pred. with torque converter and elec. start. Parking brake. Wilwood brakes. Made seat and covered it in pleated wht. Vinyl. Has head and taillights with tachometer. Here's some pics of the hot rod.

Parking brake. Wilwood brakes.
I saw the lil Mechanical , then had to re-read this LOL. Dedicated parking brake on a gokart, the commitment to build quality is unreal.

Love the sheet metal work.

And those Drainzit oil drain hoses are fantastic, At work we stock/ install them for customers, and I use one for my generator at home.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks guys. 40 series torque converter makes it do this from a dead stop. Yeah it's fun!

I just picked up a Groundhog dual engine kart by BKS. Fun Kart...With two Honda 6.5 engines.. but I can't find any information on this thing. Could you maybe steer me in the right direction 😬 the sticker looks like something from Big Daddy Ed Roth.

Yep that's pretty much what mine looked like except really beat up. Yours looks like it's in nice shape. Are those tecumseh engines? How's it run?
I really don't know diddly about these karts. I know they were made somewhere in Chicago. I did some online research and that's how I figured out where it came from. I bought mine from a guy I knew just because I thought it was a cool kart. Sat in my garage for years before I finally got sick of moving it from one spot to the other and decided to make it into what you see now.

Mine came with two Honda GX200 6.5 horsepower engines. 2 new carburetors, pull string, new tires. plugs filters.... I just got it a week ago. Traded it for a 1975 Winchester model 94, 30-30 LOL.
But now I don't know what to do with this thing.. should I restore it and have a mint condition rare cart that nobody else has or just sell it..lol😬😬

Great info guys. Any idea how wide the original grasshopper was from outsides of the rear tires? Or the dual with the larger rear tires? Trying to figure out if with would fit in the back of my SUV, 46 inches across.
Thanks
