thanks lol

VIDEO VIDEO VIDEO!!!!!!!

it failed to self sustain mostly because of the lack of fuel and the leaf blower wasn't enough powerful to spool the turbo at the correct speed ... m'eh next time maybe it's gonna start!

i think i saw "diaphragm pump" on the oil pump in a pic... does that explain the reciprocating noise @ the beginning of the vid?

can that pump really stand up to the heat of the oil??? what pump model is it out of curiousity?

also where did you get that oil filter holder thing... looks like aluminum that the filter screws onto, that would be really helpful too. easy to contain the in and out of the filter!

this has been an interesting topic for me for a couple of years, seeing other guys videos on the net and stuff.

I never could figure out how i'd want to rig up the oiling system from a car to it or what...??? your pump is very simple tho.

do you know of any good resources to help design or give ideas on how to build the combustion chamber? i expect it vary greatly due to the size of the turbo. in addition to that, whats a real easy way to power a sparkplug like that for initial ignition... i understand once you get it going, you can stop the spark and it will self sustain the flame in the comb. chamb.

thanks for any info any1 provides, and great job to lemegacool:thumbsup:    on the turbocharger jet engine.

do you think it would have enough lbs. of thrust to move itself and the cart it is on?? or am i seriously underestimating this beast? i saw 60lbs. mentioned, that seems like plenty to move itself and its cart.

nice job again,
BAMBY

no lol the noise at the beginning is from my camry's muffler LOL the pump is really silent... yes she can withstand hot oil and pressurise up to 80 psi (tested) the model number is 8000-643-236
this is the ONLY shurflo pump with the proper seals to do this...

the oil filter thingny i got it at princess auto... its an hydraulic inline filter.

for a oil pump you can use a car oil pump, power steering pump, hydraulic pump, basically any pump that can handle hot oil and put out about 80psi (i run my turbo on 50 psi)

ressource : http://www.ivcity.com/turbosoft/ nuff said!;)
also there is a diy yahoo group on gas turbine with GREAT info on it... i'm a member

for the spark a simple car coil wired on a custom pulser circuit will provide a good spark ( search "car coil driver" on google)

on diesel runs i plan on anchoring the test stand in the ground :) it should move it...

ok so got all the hardware needed to complete the new end plate... the last one warped badly when i welded on it... ok i welded a lot on it to plug holes but m'eh! i cutted myself a new one on the CNC plasma cutter at work... god i love this thing! lol

here is some pics of the final assy... the center nozzle is a 9gph delavan oil burner nozzle (supplied with pressurized diesel) and the little crushed hose barb fitting is the pilot flame nozzle (propane)

notice the cute little stainless tig welds on the homemade 1/4 npt fittings LOL

wow! those welds are beautiful! i love looking at nice welds... just something nice about it...

plasma cutters are real nice, we got one at my school. but the precision of cnc and the awesomeness of plasma... those combined must be insane!!! cool beans!

one question... whats with that spark plug? did u make that or what??? or can u buy that somewhere?

whats the next line of business after all this? cant wait for moar pics!

nice work,
BAMBY
